The steel strand is a steel product composed of multiple steel wires twisted. The carbon steel surface can be added with galvanized layer, zinc-aluminum alloy layer, aluminum clad layer, copper-plated layer, and epoxy-coated layer as required. 

The manufacturing process is divided into monofilament manufacturing and stranded wire manufacturing. (Cold) wire drawing technology is used when making monofilament. According to different products, the material can be a high carbon steel wire rod, stainless steel wire rod, or medium and low carbon steel wire rod. Zinc shall be electroplated or hot-dipped on the monofilament. In the strand manufacturing process, a stranding machine is used to strand multiple steel wires into a product. The prestressed steel strand needs to be continuously stabilized after forming. The final product is generally collected on a reel or rolled without a shaft.

Galvanized steel strands usually refer to messenger wires, guy wires, core wires or strength members, etc., and can also be used as earth wires/ground wires for overhead power transmission, Barrier cables on both sides of roads, or structure cables in building structures. The prestressed steel strands commonly used in prestressed steel strands are uncoated low-relaxation steel strands (uncoated steel strands for prestressed concrete), and there are also galvanized (galvanized), which are often used in bridges, construction, water conservancy, and energy. And geotechnical engineering, unbonded steel strand (unbonded steel strand or mono strand) is often used in floor, foundation engineering, etc.
