Concept distinction of scrap steel:

Scrap iron generally contains more than 2.0% carbon, and the sulfur content and phosphorus content of high-quality scrap iron should not be more than 0.070% and 0.40% respectively. The sulfur content and phosphorus content of ordinary scrap steel and alloy scrap iron are not more than 0.12% and 1.00% respectively. The iron content of scrap iron added to the blast furnace should not be less than 65.0%. Scrap steel generally has a carbon content of less than 2.0% and a sulfur content of no more than 0.050%. For residual elements in non-alloy scrap steel, the mass fraction of nickel shall not be greater than 0.30%, and the mass fraction of chromium and copper shall not be greater than 0.30%. Except for manganese and silicon, the total content of other residual elements is not greater than 0.60%.

Ways to recycle scrap steel:

The recycling methods of scrap steel include social recycling, industrial recycling, and imported recycling. Social recycling mainly comes from poor quality scrap steel eliminated in civil life; industrial recycling mainly comes from trimmings and other scrap steel materials eliminated in the factory production process; imported recycling mainly comes from foreign scrap steel, such as the United States and Japan.

Scrap steel processing methods:

Scrap steel comes in different types and shapes, with different weights and sizes. It requires processing methods to process different types and specifications of scrap steel into furnace materials that meet the requirements of steelmaking production. During the processing process, some directly usable profiles and steel plates can be selected as direct production materials to increase the utilization value of scrap steel.

The difference between ordinary scrap steel and scrap stainless steel:

The difference between ordinary scrap steel and scrap stainless steel lies in toughness, hardness, oxidation resistance, color, magnetism, luster, and the difference in wiping with copper sulfate. Ordinary scrap steel has high toughness and hardness, is easy to oxidize and rust, is dark brown, and is generally magnetic; while scrap stainless steel has higher hardness, good oxidation resistance, is not easy to oxidize and rust, has different colors and gloss, and generally does not have magnetic.
