1. Raw materials
The biggest difference between pickled coils and hot-rolled coils is the different raw materials. Pickled coils are products that remove surface oxide scale through pickling on the basis of hot-rolled coils. Hot-rolled coils are made of steel billets through preheating, rolling, and other processes.
2. Production process
The production process of pickled coils is more complicated than that of hot-rolled coils, requiring multiple processes such as pickling, cold rolling, annealing, and pickling to ensure the quality of the steel plate surface. Hot-rolled coils only need to undergo basic processes such as preheating, rolling, and cooling.
3. Surface quality
Since pickled coils need to be pickled multiple times during the production process, their surface quality is smoother than that of hot-rolled coils, without defects such as oxide scale and carbon deposits. At the same time, during the production process of pickled coils, special treatments such as coating can also be performed on the surface to make it more corrosion-resistant and more beautiful.
4. Purpose
Due to the excellent surface quality of pickled coils, it can be used in situations that require high appearance quality, such as automobile manufacturing, home appliance manufacturing, architectural decoration, etc. When production costs are low, hot-rolled coils are usually used in some simpler structural components, such as steel pipes, shipbuilding, etc.
